1.) The following IRQ remain eligible for use with a NIC are

IRQ3 = for COM2/COM4 or bus Mouses
IRQ4 = for COM1/COM2
IRQ10 = used for primary SCSI controller
IRQ11 = used for secondary SCSI controller

2.)

a. For a minimun cost, i'll buy a 32 bit bus-mastering NICs with additional RAM for all segments.
b. To get the required result but only one of the optional desired results, i'll use a minimum cost for the network.
c. To get the required result but neither of the optional desired result, i'll buy a expensive hardware for the Network.
d. To get the proposed solution but does not produce the required result.

b. Replace the 8 bit NE1000 with a 32-bit NE3200 EISA card because EISA is backward-compatible with ISA and you cab enjoy the extra performance boast.

c. Remove all nonessential adapters and install the NIC then use whatever IRQ's are available to install as many of the other adapters as you can get working.

1.)

* There are 14 computers in the 1st floor connected in a switch. On the 2nd floor, 13 computers are connected in a switch and the switch is connected to the 1st switch in the 1st floor. The 3rd floor has 13 computers also connected in a switch and the switch is connected to the two switches in the 1st and 2nd floor and is connected to the server.

1.)
Server based, because the XYZ Corporation want their network to be easy to manage and back up. A server based is also good for many computers.

2.)
Peer-to-peer, because Widgets Inc. wants the cheapest possible solution and minimal training for employees, and because employees wants to control resources on their own machines, they cannot do it with server based network.

3.)
Combination Network, because Individual users need some control over individual resources but they also want network faxing and dial-in service at each location, they cannot do it in a server based or a peer-to-peer network. The only solution is a combination network.

4.)
Fax Servers.
